On the 22nd of June, we had a remarkable day. Due to such a huge interest in our workshop we organised two instead one.

The results:

  • We had 17 participants, one of them was a boy, who participated with his younger sister. All the girls in the age from 7 to 10 years have successfully completed the task and created an interactive animation with the help of Scratch in less than 60 minutes. As a result they were awarded with the certificate of attendance.

  • Around 20 parents have participated in the open-discussion. (While the girls were coding, the founder of Coding Girls Anna Radulovski had an open discussion with the parents of the kids about “girls in coding”, how to empower girls to step into coding, modern trends in technology, the gap between men and women in tech.)

  • The room was full of enthusiasm and positive emotions. What could be better that seeing the happy eyes of our children.

Our teacher is also a passionate developer Maria Totova shared her impressions from the event:

“It was a great pleasure to work with these clever kids! They were very enthusiastic, extremely focused and managed to learn with ease everything I showed them. What I enjoyed most, however, was their smiles at the end of the workshop and their strong desire to continue learning programming”.

P.S. A big thanks to 3HUB for hosting us and providing the venue, the drinks and the energy snacks. A special thanks to Ivo Radulovski.
